This position will assist in managing routine field work, public education, outreach activities and data management for compliance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System Permit) program under the direction of the Stormwater Utility Director.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. *Conduct weekly inspections of post-construction sites.
  2. *Conduct visual stream assessments.
  3. *Inspection of detention and retention basins.
  4. *Conduct routine good housekeeping inspections of all City facilities.
  5. *Update mapping of Stormwater system.
  6. *Perform data collection and field assignments including, but not limited to, the Stormwater Department.
  7. *Perform in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  8. *Upload data into City databases using various electronic media.
  9. *Perform basic office duties.
  10. *Ensure that all data is accurate and properly organized and logged in a timely and efficient manner.
  11. *Possess and retain proper license to operate vehicle.
  12. *Remain available for all emergency situations.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

  8. Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds frequently.
  9. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

  1. Typically, equal amount of time will be spent working indoors and outdoors, which may be in inclement weather (within reason and safety) to include heat, humidity, cold, rain, ice, and snow.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and TRAINING

  1. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form.
  2. A pleasant, friendly, and outgoing demeanor.
  3. Willingness to take on additional tasks as assigned.
  4. Must maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  5. Experience in construction, preferred.
  6. Ability to effectively utilized Microsoft Suite products as needed to fulfill duties.
